Uniqlo acquires renewable energy production certificate from ReAcc, PTT’s clean energy trading platform, moves forward with sustainable business

Mr. Hiroyuki Matsumoto Chief Operating Officer, UNIQLO (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Mr. Danaidet Ketsuwan Chief Financial Officer, SCG Corporation Packaging Public Company Limited participated in the press conference on the implementation of the 2565 Sustainability Plan between UNIQLO (Thailand) Co., Ltd., ReAcc Company Limited (ReAcc), a subsidiary of PTT, and SCG Co., Ltd. Packaging Public Company Limited to reinforce the business goals towards sustainability.

Uniqlo has partnered with PTT through the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from ReAcc, a provider of clean energy and greenhouse gas neutrality trading services through a digital platform for companies that want to provide renewable energy to have easier and more convenient access to such energy sources.

The renewable energy purchased by Uniqlo is sourced entirely from solar energy sources produced in Thailand and will be used in all Uniqlo stores in Thailand. This will encourage business operators in Thailand and the ASEAN region to generate and use electricity from renewable sources. This will lead to the use of Net Zero Carbon energy, increasing the potential of sustainable energy innovation development of the country to the world stage in the future.
